Body Found in River Could Be NJ Fisherman
Medical examiners are investigating whether the body of a man found Monday could be a New Jersey fisherman missing for more than two weeks.
State Police tell the Asbury Park Press that the body was found in the Shrewsbury River. The body was taken to the Monmouth County medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
Fisherman Edward Broderick has been missing since Dec. 14 when his clamming boat sank. A fellow fisherman believes Broderick's commercial boat flipped over in the Navesink River. The vessel was found submerged near a marina in Highlands that was Broderick's original destination.
An investigation into why the boat sank continues.
