That's right--if you plan on searching for news about two particular rock stars (among other celebrities), be aware it might cause a computer infection.

At ultimateclassicrock.com, it was reported that Antivirus software kingpin McAfee has released its annual Most Dangerous Cyber Celebrities list, and the results are bad news for those who do internet searches for Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.

“Most consumers are completely unaware of the security risks that exist when searching for celebrity and entertainment news, images and videos online, sacrificing safety for immediacy,” explained McAfee spokesperson Gary Davis.

He said cybercriminals capitalize on consumers’ attention to breaking celebrity news to lead them to unsafe sites that can severely infect their computers and devices and steal personal data.
