A joint investigation by Ocean Gate and Berkeley Police into the increased demand for Marijuana Vape Pens and Marijuana Wax being sold to and used by high school kids in the borough and township respectively has resulted in an arrest.

22-year old Joseph Domanoski of Butternut Lane in Bayville faces several charges after police say they found 1-lb of raw marijuana vacuum sealed, a large quantity of marijuana wax, 62 marijuana "vape" pens for resale, under 1/2 ounce of cocaine and a quantity of prescription pills in his home.

A search warrant was executed on May 7 around 10:00 am without incident by Ocean Gate and Berkeley Police who also found $75,000.00 in cash in the home.

Domanoski who police say was seen as a major supplier of this altered marijuana throughout the area is charged with possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of prescription pills and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Investigators estimate he took in several-grand a week from selling these products.

Paraphernalia used to manufacture and produce marijuana for resale were also located and seized.

Domnoski was taken to Berkeley Police HQ where he was processed after his arrest and released in accordance with the Bail Reform Act.

At this time Police don't believe the other residents of the home were aware of or involved in this distribution activity.

Investigators explain that modifications of traditional marijuana, (which is what Domnoski was doing selling these vape pens), make the drug more potent and less detectable adding to their popularity.

This quality of life investigation was geared towards high-school aged juveniles and young adults who are vulnerable to the increased potency of the altered drug.

The investigation was the result of closely coordinated investigations between the respective agencies who also are part of the same 7-12th grade school district.

The investigation was conducted by Sergeant Vincent La Rocca and Patrolman Richard Zonin of the Ocean Gate Police Department, Detective Lieutenant Pete La Rocca and Detective William Somers of the Berkeley Township Police Department as well as members of the Berkeley Township Police Patrol Division.
