It's the most wonderful time of the year! Baseball season has returned!

Today at 6:10am, the Oakland Athletics will play host to the Seattle Mariners in a 2 game series taking place in Tokyo, Japan.

This is all part of MLB's attempt to expand into a worldwide brand. I understand the need and desire to make baseball a more global game, but if the game is scheduled to start at 6:10am Eastern time, who is going to be watching? It's even worse for fans who happen to be on the West Coast, fans of teams like, I don't know, the Athletics and Mariners!

I'm a Yankee fan, I still have a week til the REAL Opening Day, April 6th in Tampa against the Rays.

But hey, if this is what you get when you go to a baseball game in Japan, I might reconsider...
