Van Halen re-emerged from a long hiatus with a short, sweaty and generally fantastic concert at a small club in New York City tonight (Jan. 5). They also premiered a brand-new and extremely catchy song, ‘She’s the Woman,’ halfway through their set.
David Lee Roth of Van Halen granted a couple of big exclusive news scoops to some autograph seekers last night (Jan. 4) in New York City — specifically, the name of the band’s long-awaited new album and the dates when they’ll be performing in the Big Apple as part of their upcoming tour.
Guns N’ Roses, the Small Faces / Faces, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Donovan have all been voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are joined by The Beastie Boys and Laura Nyro. The ceremony will be held in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14th.
Remember the video of the nine-year old kid tearing up Ozzy Osbourne‘s ‘Crazy Train’ on guitar from last week? Well, we’ve learned a lot about him since then. Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen were among the relatively small group of classic rockers nominated for 2012 Grammy Awards tonight (Nov. 30). None of them were mentioned on the hour-long televised nominations program, which consisted largely of pop and country music performances.
Eric Carr of Kiss died twenty years ago today (Nov. 24) after a brave battle with heart cancer. Carr replaced original drummer Peter Criss just prior to the sessions for the band’s 1981 album ‘Music from the Elder,’ and remained with the group until he passed away ten years later.
Rob Halford of Judas Priest was kind enough to phone us up for an interview recently, and despite all the talk about the band’s current trek being the last major Priest tour, it’s obvious from the energy and passion the singer spoke with about their future plans that the “Metal Gods” aren’t going away anytime soon.
