An Assembly Committee has passed a resolution declaring June – from this point forward – will be “Men’s Health Awareness Month.”

Assemblyman Angel Fuentes says the designation is meant to encourage screenings, health fairs, media appearances, and other health and outreach activities.

“Preventative measures like diagnostic screenings and increased education about the services and treatments available to men are crucial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle,” says Fuentes, “raising awareness of these simple tests can help save the lives of New Jersey’s husbands, fathers, brothers and sons.”

Fuentes, who is Vice Chair to the Assembly Women and Children Committee, adds “”I am encouraged that the Health and Senior Services Committee has seen the importance this resolution for the well-being of New Jersey’s families.”

The resolution will now be considered by the full Assembly.
