Seaside does it, Point Pleasant does it, Howell does it, Belmar does it…and now you can watch movies on the beach in Asbury Park!

Sponsored by the Asbury Park Film Initiative and Shore Flicks, the summer 2017 lineup marks the eighth year of films on the Second Avenue beach in front of Langosta Lounge.

AUGUST 3rd - MOANA

AUGUST 10th - DIRTY DANCING (celebrating the 30th anniversary!)

AUGUST 17th - JAWS

AUGUST 24th - AUDIENCE CHOICE

You can submit a movie for August 24th through Facebook. Keep in mind, this is a family-friendly event, so as much fun as it would be to watch Reservoir Dogs or Lost Highway or Oldboy on the big screen, you should stick to nominating things like "The Force Awakens" or "The Avengers" or something.

Held at dusk, the weekly viewings are free to the public with canned goods being accepted for their ongoing food drive.

The Film Initiative is a nonprofit founded in 2008 as a way to provide the city with film and art-related activities that promote culture, education & diversity.
