Information from the public helped Toms River Police make an arrest in the robbery of a Chase Bank branch this week.

James Bonelli,33 of Toms River was arrested on Friday in South Toms River according to the Ocean County Signal. He is being held on $150,000 bail in the Ocean County Jail on charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.

After releasing photos of the suspect police say they received tips from the public that helped them develop a case. Police had discovered an imitation handgun believed to have been used in the robbery and some items of clothing.

The suspect showed  a handgun and began to yell his demand for money to the four bank employees and one customer inside the bank at the time. After receiving and undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled the bank, heading north on Highland Parkway towards Main Street.
