On one of our sister sites, Ultimate Classic Rock is now premiering the band’s latest release, their version of the Boston classic, ‘Smokin’.’

Drummer Charlie Benante had this to say about their selection of the Boston song, “One of the great things about ‘Smokin’ is that there’s a really cool section that has a real ‘Anthrax-y’ feel to it, the guitars and drums and playing the same type of rhythm, the kick drums are going with the guitars – I immediately heard in my head what we could do with it.”

‘Smokin” is the latest of  Anthrax’s recently unveiled covers including Cheap Trick’s ‘Big Eyes,’ Thin Lizzy‘s ‘Jailbreak,’ Rush‘s ‘Anthem‘ and AC/DC‘s ‘T.N.T.,’ the latter of which premiered on Loudwire.com

The ‘Anthems’ EP arrives March 19, just days prior to the start of the group’s ‘Metal Alliance‘ tour that will keep them on the road this spring. To listen to Anthrax’s cover of Boston’s ‘Smokin” over at Ultimate Classic Rock, click on the link below.
