There's an easy way to fight off the dreariness of winter in New Jersey, thanks to some inspiring artwork that's cropped up along streets and in one case, a boardwalk.

I decided to bring you on a video tour of some pieces in Monmouth County, right along the Shore. The Asbury Park Boardwalk has become a living canvas, thanks to collaborative efforts by the “Wooden Walls” public art project and Sea Change AP.

With Asbury as our starting point, I rounded up ten of the brightest and most creative murals I could find. Here they are!

1. "Tribute to music legends" (Asbury Park, Sunset Pavilion) This is a collaboration between Ocean County's own rock photographer, Danny Clinch and artist Dick Cecil.

It's on a higher level of the Sunset Pavilion. There are other images on the building more accommodating for selfies, including Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and Willie Nelson near Convention Hall.

2. “Havhest” (Asbury Park boardwalkMike Shine has shared his take on a mythical Scandinavian creature…Jersey Shore-style!

3. "Sparrow" (Asbury Park boardwalk) Artist “L7m” Luis Seven Martins created this fragile and pretty little bird (and did a similar piece in Red Bank).

4. Numbers '1871' (Asbury Park boardwalk) There's even a mural for number buffs, thanks to artist James Vance.

5. 'Mermaid Eyes' (Asbury Park boardwalk) by Thiago Valdi

Jersey City is another hotbed of creativity in New Jersey.

6. ‘David Bowie’ by Eduardo Kobra (Jersey City, Jersey Avenue)

7. ‘Flying boat’ by Asbel Gomez Dumpierre (Jersey City, outside Key Food)

8. ‘New Journey’ by Alice Pasquini, ‘Savage Habbit’ mural (276 First Street, Jersey City)

9. 'New Jersey Giraffe' by Catherine Hart (Jersey City, outside 'Porta' restaurant and bar)

10. 'Portraits' in Newark is actually the largest mural on the East Coast!

This collective art recently left me smiling amid traffic on Route 21 (McCarter Highway), as my family drove to "Disney on Ice." The sight of such whimsical images definitely brightened what is a notoriously frustrating stretch of roadway.

"Gateways to Newark: 'Portraits" is about the length of 25 football fields, as painted by 17 different artists

The best part is- there's more art every season, as Jersey residents and visitors alike are loving the chance to smile at something beautiful, even amid the traffic and chaos of the Garden State.
