That's what he said to me a few years ago when I interviewed him over the phone after asking him if he really was the "nicest guy in rock" as has so often been said.

By the way, a happy birthday to Alice, who was born February 4, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan and turns 65 today.

Blending rock with a hard edge and horror imagery is, of course, his claim to fame, and it can be argued that no one does it better.

And speaking of blending well, he starred as himself in the 2012 Tim Burton adaptation of the American horror comedy film, Dark Shadows.
