The startup of internet gambling from Atlantic City Casinos is just a few months away, but the big question is whether the new option will impact sagging revenues, slipping now for seven years.

Roger Gros, of Global Gaming Business Magazine, says nine casinos have contracted with companies who will run their gambling websites. He says the contracted companies will get most of the revenue from the online action, so the casinos will use the gambling sites for promotion and marketing.

"What is questionable is how you are going to draw people to Atlantic City using online gaming," Gros questioned. "Frankly, the casinos really don't have an idea about how that's going to happen yet."

The Tropicana is the latest Atlantic City casino to line up an online partner.

A spokeswoman for the State Division of Gaming Enforcement, said all 12 Casinos "have identified an internet gaming partner and either have entered into a contractual agreement with the partner or remain in negotiations."

At least three casinos will kick off internet gambling on the official start date, November 26th.
