In order to ease the madness of the end-of-the-month lines at your local MVC office, your driver's license will now expire on your birthday, rather than the last day of the month.

Under current rules, a person’s driver’s license expires on the last day of the 48th month after the license was issued. Your license will now still expire every four years, but on the driver’s birthday, rather than the last day of the month it was issued.

Republican Assemblyman Anthony Bucco said

This will improve efficiency and increase customer satisfaction. We can solve the frustrating lines and delays that damage MVC’s reputation by eliminating the flood of drivers desperate to get things done before the end of the month."
