Last night at The Stone Pony, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones with Fifty Licks, the Stones tribute band that rocked the house!

Thanks to all who made it happen and to everyone who came out last night!

Marc Ribler and Friends paid homage to mark the anniversary with a rockin' tribute.

It was 50 years ago today that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Brian Jones played their first official gig at The Marquee in London.

They were the Rollin' Stones when they played that show and it would be some 6 months later before they added the "g", as well as recruiting Charlie and Bill to join them.

Mick Jagger's comment on 50 years of The Stones?

"Yeah, it was a pretty good ride."

A good ride indeed!

And there's more to come, of course.

The Stones have some plans to mark their big anniversary sometime in the near future.

According to stonesnews.com, Keith says the band is rehearsing.

"There's things in the works....but when? I can't say yet. We're playing around with the idea and had a couple of rehearsals...there might be life in the old dog yet--we'll die gracefully, elegantly wasted."

Hopefully, it won't be graceful (or ungraceful) death anytime soon.

Hey, if Keith Richards is still alive and kickin' we know something that defies logic and reality is going on with these guys.

Oh, yeah.

THEY'RE THE ROLLINGS STONES AND THEY'RE IMMORTAL!!
