JCP+L’s outage map shows 192,000 still in the dark, mostly in Monmouth, Ocean & Morris counties as of 4:30AM Wednesday. The utility still says the “vast majority” of those customers will be restored by the end of today.

“We have the largest contingent of linemen and forestry crews JCP&L has ever seen, as well as experienced professionals from many state and federal agencies,” said JCP+L President Don Lynch in a press release. “Together, we will finish the job of restoring power as soon as possible.”

Many customers, however, as upset at what they perceive as JCP+L’s lack of communication regarding customers still waiting for restoration. “Giving a list of restorations doesn’t give insight to what the situation is so we can cope better! It understandable the situation that we are all facing but BE HONEST! Give us the facts! WORK WITH US AND WE WILL WORK WITH YOU! Don’t under estimate people,” posted a customer on their Facebook page.

PSE+G, meanwhile, reports 220,400 still without power in their latest update. In anticipation of the storm, they remind customers that “federal safety rules prevent line crews from working in bucket trucks when winds are greater than 40 mph.”

They also say that there is “currently is no shortage of materials” but they are working with FEMA to secure replacement items.
