St. Patrick's Day in New Jersey is one most fun days to go out and celebrate. St. Pat's is one of those holidays where it is actually more fun to be out with family and friends celebrating. Whether you're Irish, or Irish for the day, there is nothing quite like stepping up to the bar at a great Irish pub for a pint. In fact, there are so many fantastic Irish pubs in NJ, you could spend everyday in the month of March visiting them to get your fill of Irish celebrations.

As a special added bonus, St. Patrick's day lands on a Friday this year, so you'll be able to continue the celebrating straight through the weekend, or use it to recover, depending on how much you decide to party,

North Jersey

Thatcher McGhee'sPompton Lakes and Fairfield

Thatcher's in Pompton Lakes will be opening bright and early on St. Patrick's Day, with doors opening at 8am! There will be a special Irish/American breakfast served. There will also be a special St.Paddy's Day menu all day long starting at 10am.


The Grasshopper Too is going to be your St. Patrick's Day headquarters! They will have live Irish entertainment, a dance party with a video dj and much more. There will be lunch specials starting at 11am and happy hour starts at 3pm!


McSwiggan's Pub of Hoboken

McSwiggan's of Hoboken is the home of the "Smoking Phoenix Bomb" drink. Check their website for the latest updates on what's happening for St. Patrick's Day!


Happy hour starts early at Blackjack's with an 11am kick off for happy hour, all the way to 6pm! St. Patrick's Day turns into ladies' night with $5 martinis.


St. James Gate, Maplewood

Come in to St. James place to kick off St. Paddy's Day early when doors open at 8 am! They'll once again have their signature menu special for St. Paddy's Day. Live Irish music will kick off early in the afternoon.


Willie McBride's of Hoboken

It will be a great afternoon of Irish music as Agus performing at 5pm and then the legendary band, The Nerds will rock the rest of the night, starting at 11pm.


Cloverleaf Tavern, West Caldwell

At the Cloverleaf, they don't just celebrate St. Patrick's for one day, they celebrate for almost an entire week, starting on March 12 through the 18! The celebration kicks off with a special Sunday brunch at 10am!


Tommy Foxes, Bergenfield

It will be an all day and all night party at TommY Foxes. Not only do they offer an all-day celebration but they can also bring the party to you as they have a special St. Patrick's Day catering menu!


Have a pint of Guinness and celebrate St. Paddy's day at this cool Irish pub, themed after the legendary movie with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. There will be a special menu for the holiday as well.


The Dublliner, Hoboken

Located only 2 blocks away from the Path station, The Dubliner in Hoboken has amazing an authentic Irish feel and some great Irish fare . The bar boasts 3 stories with a rooftop bar. There will be live music from 4-10pm


Shannon Rose, Ramsey

There are going to be plenty of shenanigans leading up to St. Patrick's Day at the Shannon Rose. It will all get started on March 11 with a special kids celebration from 11a-2pm.  On the 17th, there will be plenty of Irish entertainment including step dancers, bagpipes and face painters! There will be live music 11-4pm, 4-8pm, 9pm-1am.


McGovern's is one of the oldest pubs in New Jersey and has also been voted as one of NJ's best Irish pub.


Central Jersey

With locations in both East Brunswick and Monmouth Junction, the Kilt is a great place to celebrate in style. Tons of TV's to watch the big games and a killer Irish Hooley menu, you'll have a great time. Oh yeah, and as an added bonus, they have some extremely gorgeous servers as well. If you happen to be in North Jersey for the holiday, the Tilted Kilt also has locations in Bloomfield and Wayne as well.


During St. Patrick's Day, it the culmination of Irish Heritage Week at Hailey's! The week kicks off with a Sunday brunch on 3/12. Then on the 17th, Hailey's will open at 11am with entertainment starting at 1pm.


Kilkenny House, Cranford

The Kilkenny has a warm, Irish charm. There will be entertainment from David McBride and a whole lot more!


Tir Na Nog, Trenton

Come in to the Tir Na Nog for a pint and celebrate in a pub as close to Ireland as you may get on St,. Patrick's Day. There will be music throughout the day from Billy Walsh (12-4pm), The Successful Failures (4-8pm) and Some Assembly Required (8-midnight).


Kilarney's Publick House, Hamilton and Florence locations

You can celebrate at Kilarney's where everyday is like St Patrick's Day. They will have music all day long with the Donegal Scholars Band at noon, Some Assembly Required at 3pm and at 7pm A Class of Kings.


The Blackthorn will be open from 9am until 2am for their St. Patrick's Day celebration and have a Live Performance by Willie Lynch.


Jersey Shore and South Jersey

Celtic Cottage, Long Branch

The Celtic Cottage is home to Big Joe Henry's yearly Belmar Parade broadcast. On St. Patrick's Day, it will the home of a great celebration. Doors open at 11am. There will be live Irish music kicking off at 12 noon by Round the House and at 6pm, John O’Neil and the Danjos will be performing.


Kelly's Tavern, Neptune City

Kelly's Tavern is an Irish staple of the Jersey shore. Not only do they have all your Irish favorite foods, but they have it to take on the go as well!


You have to love a place that advertises "Where everyday is St. Patrick's Day!" Put on your best green outfit and join them for their famous St. Paddy's Day party. There will be a huge parking lot festival, including bagpipers, live music, a beer truck and giveaways! The party will go all day long!


Johnny Macs, Asbury Park

Located right on main street, smack dab in the middle of Asbury park, Johnny Macs is a must-visit venue for St. Patrick's Day! Open 11am-2am everyday, check Johnny's website for the latest updates.


The Dublin House Restaurant and Pub's authentic Irish fare will take you right back to the homeland.


Doors open at 10:30am on St. Patrick's Day and there will be a special menu served all day long! The Snakes will be performing from 1-4pm and then again from 7-11pm.


Klee's, Seaside Heights

Klee's will have some great happy hour specials and music at night from Jay and Rob!


Irish Pub, Atlantic City

If you're visiting Atlantic City on the 17th, you have to stop into the Irish Pub as it is one of the most legendary hot spots in the city. This is a venue where it is truly St. Patrick's Day 365 days a year.


Ri Ra Irish Pub, Atlantic City

Located within the Tropicana Casino and Resort, Ri Ra will be kicking off their St. Patrick's Day party at noon, with live entertainment throughout the day from  Galway Guild and DJ Sparkles. There will also be other events leading up St. Patrick's Day, starting as early as Saturday March 11.


Keenan's Irish Pub, North Wildwood

If you find yourself in Wildwood for St. Paddy's Day, then you want to stop in to Keenan's for some great drinks and even better music!


PJ Whelihan's, Cherry Hill,

It's a party at PJ's for St. Patrick's Day! There will be music from 39 Mariner at 10pm and drink specials, with $4 Guinness pints. There are also PJ locations in Maple Shade and Medford Lakes as well.


The Old Oar House is set in a classic building built back in 1883 with an old neighborhood pub feel to it. They have featured beer and cocktails every day. Musical entrainment on St. Patrick's Day from Chris Lax, starting at 9pm.
